Finding the right company to transport oversize autos is as difficult as the task itself. Many transport companies lack the expertise of shipping large cars and as a result shy away from the challenge. Because no two oversized auto transports are the same, there are details specific only to your move we examine to handle your transport and help facilitate the process.
Details we need for oversize vehicles
- Vehicle Type – Year, make and model.
- Dimensions – Length, height, width and weight of the vehicle. Dimensions must be verified.
- Condition – Is the vehicle in operable condition or will inoperable vehicle transport be needed?
- Attachments – Are there any attachments on the vehicle? E.g. roof rack/mount, boom lift, trailer, water barrel etc.
- Route – How far will vehicle be traveling? Where is vehicle picking up and delivering? Is the vehicle shipping to Florida?
- Schedule – Are we working with a moving schedule? How soon or late can we pickup and deliver?
- Pickup/Delivery Location – Although our service is door to door, we’ll need enough space at pickup and delivery for our carrier to safely load and unload the vehicle. Remember that our carriers are generally 80 feet in length.
How Much Does Oversize Transport Cost?
Factors we use to determine the cost of a large vehicle transport:
- Distance — By far, the most important factor that determines the cost to transport a vehicle.
- Vehicle Transport Make & Model — The second most important factor when determining cost.
- Vehicle Transport Type — Due to their size and weight, oversize vehicles require specialized trucking equipment.
- Condition — Additional equipment is necessary to transport non-running vehicles.
- Seasonality — Vehicle transport during winter season is generally more expensive than transporting a vehicle in the summer.
Prepare Your Vehicle for Transport
Reduce the chance of a damage by preparing your vehicle for transport. Although the risk of damage during vehicle transport are slim to none, you still want to make sure you do everything you can to ensure a damage-free transport. Here are a few things we advice:
1| Record any pre-existng damage
Noting all pre-existing damage on your vehicle will make it easier for you and carrier to identify any new damage on your vehicle.
2| Take pictures of your vehicle
We recommend taking pictures of your vehicle from all angles and pictures of any pre-existing damage.
3| Perform a mechanical inspection
Perform a maintenance check to identify if any mechanical issues. All vehicles must be operable unless previously noted.

With the new addition of Conestoga carriers to our fleet, we can transport oversized cars enclosed. Our step-decks and lowboys carriers are now equipped with Conestoga trailers to protect large modified cars measuring up to 40′ in length and 9′ 9″ in height during transit.
